Deep Dives. Profound Transformation.
I empower people to break through stagnation and unleash their fullest potentials.
Healing occurs through transformative experiences that facilitate neuroplasticity, followed by important integration periods. Supported by current neurobiological research, I provide professional 'deep dive' techniques to assist you in gaining clarity, healing from trauma, accessing embodied wisdom, and effectively addressing professional and relational challenges.
About
My name is Leslie Chertok
Over the course of my 30 year career, I have supported thousands of clients in overcoming core obstacles to realizing their full personal and professional potential.
With three decades of experience as a therapist, coach, and facilitator, I bring deep expertise in trauma recovery, mindfulness, and systems change to my work with individuals and organizations. My practice is grounded in a lifelong commitment to weaving practical mindfulness into daily life as a pathway to real, transformational change. My work spans a wide spectrum—from guiding workplace teams through leadership trainings and equity-focused development, to supporting individuals in powerful breathwork and somatic healing practices. I’m especially passionate about dismantling systems of oppression—both internalized and systemic—through trauma-informed, embodied, and liberatory approaches. Over the course of my career, I’ve supported thousands of clients in overcoming core obstacles to realizing their full personal and professional potential. I’ve worked with industry leaders from Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, Kaiser and the Hewlett Foundation, as well as elected officials and educators from primary to university levels. I’ve facilitated teams across healthcare, education, government, and nonprofit sectors, and since its inception, I’ve served as core faculty for the Billions Institute’s Fellowship for large-scale change leaders. My somatic and breathwork expertise is rooted in decades of study and personal practice. I first began exploring breath and body-based practices through Aikido in 1985. This led me to pursue my M.A. in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University, where I trained in Buddhist psychology and mindfulness-based approaches. My learning deepened through long-term mentorship with Grandmother Tu Moonwalker. After Grandmother Tu's passing, I dove deep into advanced training with the Hendricks Institute, where I became a certified Big Leap Coach, completed their two-year Leadership and Transformation Program. I later served as founding faculty for their Restoring Resourcefulness Program. I’m also a certified NeuroDynamic Breathwork Facilitator having studied directly with Michael Stone and Glenn Girlando. I have also studied additional breathwork modalities with Gay Hendricks and Robert Litman. I’ve been Level 2 EMDR certified since 1995 and have worked in this way with hundreds of clients navigating a wide range of trauma—including childhood abuse, traumatic grief, accidents, acute violence, and the complex pressures faced by first responders. Currently, I’m pursuing certification through Fluence, a national leader in psychedelic-assisted therapy training. This work aligns with my ongoing commitment to bringing cutting-edge, embodied, and compassionate care to the people I serve. In addition to the MA I earned at Naropa University, I hold a B.A. in Psychology and Child Development from New College. These days, I live surrounded by forest on Vashon Island in the Pacific Northwest, where I offer sessions both in person and via Zoom.
